Ohio Cancer Research was proud to return to Cleveland for the 30th Star Award Gala on Wednesday, November 13 at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Tower. This special evening honored Gary Schwartz, MD, Director of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center; Gertrude Donnelly Hess MD Professor in Oncology Research; and Vice Dean for Oncology at CWRU School of Medicine, while raising critical funds for foundational cancer research.
The evening also included the presentation of the 2024 Discover Award for Research to Sanford Markowitz, MD, PhD, Ingalls Professor of Cancer Genetics and Distinguished University Professor at Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, Case Western Reserve University.
Additionally, Ohio Cancer Research was honored to present Dancing in the Limelight awards of appreciation to Fred Discenzo and Esther Rehm of La Danse Cleveland, recognizing their invaluable contributions and support. The Dancing in the Limelight program has generously contributed over $200,000 to OCR over the last 30 years!
