Grant Selection Process
Ohio Cancer Research (OCR) funds innovative cancer research projects exploring a wide range of critical areas, including genetic causes and prevention, skin cancer, stomach cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, liver cancer, kidney cancer, breast cancer, leukemia, vaccine development, DNA studies, and emerging therapeutic strategies.
Grant applications are carefully evaluated through a rigorous review process led by the OCR Scientific Review Committee. This committee, chaired by Matthew Summers, Ph.D., of The Ohio State University, is composed of esteemed doctors and scientists from institutions across Ohio. Their work is further supported by expert reviewers from across the country and around the world, ensuring a thorough and objective selection process.
Applications are due in mid-March, with funding decisions announced by late June. Awarded grants officially begin on July 1, providing researchers with the necessary support to advance their groundbreaking studies.
