Funding seed money cancer research projects
and supporting cancer awareness and early detection.

Established in 1982, Ohio Cancer Research Associates is an independent, statewide, nonprofit organization dedicated to the cure and prevention of the many forms of cancer and the reduction of its debilitating effects through aggressive basic seed money research, cancer information, and awareness.

Ohio Cancer Research Associates is not affiliated with any other organization.

The over $6.2 million in seed money provided by Ohio Cancer Research Associates has generated over $104 million in new money from other sources to continue basic cancer research on projects initially funded.

Individual researchers have been funded at:

  • The Star Award series continues in Cleveland with a performance by Judy Collins to honor W. Nicholas Howley of TransDigm Corporation and in Cincinnati honoring Richard P. Homan of Turner [Construction] with a musical tribute from Linda Purl, seen most recently in The Office.

  • Ohio Valley Grand Illusions honoring Robert E. Murray of the Murray Energy Corporation (16th year) raised the most funds in the history of the event. Many thanks to Mr. Murray for his outstanding support.

  • Johnny John, a long time volunteer, board member and great friend in Licking County passed away this month following a long illness.

  • Also, Roger Braun, former Development Director for our organization, died of a heart attack in Florida.
